Pitch report: "This pitch is going to be used again, will be using it for the first four matches, going to be some wear and tear. It's dry and hard. Yesterday's match saw 11 of the 18 wickets fall to spin. Need to consider the bounce from the surface as well. Teams coming here will have to adjust" says Daren Ganga
Faf du Plessis: Don’t mind it, was thinking of batting first as well. Looks like a belter that might spin right through. We’re a team that never really plays that well at home, we’ve performed better away. We’ve got four tough day games where we need to be at the top of our skills. It’s never the same, that’s the beauty of the game. Need to assess conditions every single time. The teams that do that better and the players that do that better have the best chance of success. I think both teams will favour bowling spinners and we’re looking to do the same.
Rovman Powell: We’re going to bat first, something for us. It looks like a pretty dry surface and looks like a dust bowl to be honest. When you have such a close contest in the CPL, it’s important to have two shots of getting into the finals. We can improve 10-15% every game, we’ve identified those areas. We have one change, Keshav Maharaj comes in.
