Welcome back for the run-chase!
Hetmyer: It’s all about being confident, the thinking was to try and get one boundary per over. And if we could get one boundary early in the over, we could push on from then. Not really, it was just if the ball was in your area, the idea was to take it on. Actually a very good wicket to be honest. It’s a very good score on this wicket, if we bowl well and take our chances, I think we would be able to win this one. (On a par score on this surface) I think 170.
20:54 Local Time, 00:54 GMT, 06:24 IST: A show of intent from the Amazon Warriors and they've racked up the highest total at this venue this season. Azam Khan started with a quickfire 26, but it was the third wicket 54-ball 106-run stand between Shai Hope (71) and Shimron Hetmyer (57) that really lit up the innings. They took the Royals to the cleaners during the middle phase of the innings and a big total was always on the cards. The visitors did fight back with wickets and have restricted the hosts to probably 10-15 runs less then what they seemed to get at one stage, but this will be a tough chase. No joy for the spinners on this wicket but Theeshana used his variations to finish with impressive numbers. Can the Royals show spunk in their chase? Back for it shortly..
