We have made a couple of changes to our Expert XI. Have a look at our new and improved team
Pitch Report: There's 4m difference between the square boundaries and the straight boundary is 73m. If you look at this surface, there will be excitement as there's some green on the surface. It's to hold the surface together. Spin is the way to go on this pitch. Batting first is the way to go and how the batters play against spin will be the key.
Teams:
England Women (Playing XI): Maia Bouchier, Danielle Wyatt-Hodge, Sophia Dunkley, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Heather Knight(c), Amy Jones(w), Danielle Gibson, Sophie Ecclestone, Charlotte Dean, Sarah Glenn, Lauren Bell
Scotland Women (Playing XI): Saskia Horley, Sarah Bryce(w), Kathryn Bryce(c), Ailsa Lister, Megan McColl, Darcey Carter, Lorna Jack-Brown, Katherine Fraser, Rachel Slater, Abtaha Maqsood, Olivia Bell
Heather Knight: We have made two changes. We have had five days off, we need to refocus and do our best. First of all, we want to win, if we get an opportunity to improve our nrr, we will see to it.
Katheryn Bryce: We are gonna have a bat first, we want to put a bit of pressure on them. One change for us. This is really exciting to be playing against one of the best teams in the world. Looking forward to a good contest and see what can happen.
Scotland Women have won the toss and have opted to bat
13:00 Local Time, 09:00 GMT, 14:30 IST: The tournament is approaching its business end and things are heating up. England square off against Scotland today in Sharjah. England have won both their matches so far, namely against South Africa and Bangladesh, and things are shaping up nicely for them. Three teams from Group B are still in contention to qualify for the semi-finals – England, South Africa and West Indies. With Net Run Rate likely to come into play for qualification, England will be eyeing a big win today as their nrr is lower than that of SA and WI. In their last game against the Proteas, Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Nat Sciver-Brunt aced the chase to perfection to take their side to a controlled win. Scotland, on the other hand, have lost all their three games so far and are already eliminated from the competition. They haven’t been able to fire collectively as a unit and that has compounded their problems. These two sides will be facing each other for the first time in T20Is. Can Scotland spring in a surprise and close out their campaign on a high? Or will England keep their winning run intact? Stick around for the toss and team lineups.
Preview

Scotland's chances of progressing to the next round may have come to an end, but with the qualification for the next World Cup in line, there is enough for them to ensure that they don't end their T20 World Cup campaign without a win. Their last chance to get points on the table is up against their neighbours, England.

Even though the two teams have never played each other previously, there is ample County Championship experience in the Scottish side, and would a secret or two about some of the individual players in the opposition.

On paper, the two teams are as separated as possible, but with Group B likely to tussle it out on a Net Run Rate scenario, the Katheryn Bryce-led side would like to make the campaign as difficult as possible for England. The conditions in Sharjah especially has been conducive for teams batting first. Not that it should make much of a difference for Sunday's afternoon clash, but Scotland would want as much going their way as possible in what is expected to be a one-sided affair.

So far, Heather Knight & Co. have been able to neatly master the conditions and put their strong spin attack to effective use. Despite the good showing by Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Nat Sciver-Brunt, there would be some concerns on the batting front for England, but they would look to use this contest as good opportunity to iron those out.

What they said:

It was always going to be difficult playing such good teams and they've obviously had a lot more experience than we have but you know like we need to keep backing ourselves, we need to keep backing our abilities regardless of the names on the team sheet and so I think that's probably one of the biggest learnings that we need to take away is just to continue to back ourselves and believe in ourselves - Abtaha Maqsood, Scotland

It's going to be a day game, which is going to be quite tough for the Scots and for us there. I don't know how they've got the short end of the stick there but yes it's going to be a tough challenge in these conditions and hopefully our professionalism can get us out on top - Heather Knight, England
