So England have stuck with the extra seamer in their bowling combination, and understandably so in these conditions. Meanwhile, the absence of Stafanie Taylor is a blow for WI who have had to reinforce their batting.
Wyatt-Hodge : (pre-match interview with host broadcaster) Enjoying myself in Dubai, what a place to play cricket. Love coming here for holiday as well. She's just getting better and better. She's so talented, will be scary how good she's going to be. We've got a really good understanding of each other in the middle. Hopefully we can push on now and have a good game tonight. We watched a little bit of the game last night. Bit more bounce than there has been in Sharjah. Have to assess and adapt quickly. Communication is going to be important. There's going to be a few nerves around - WC game, always is. Want to entertain and inspire the next generation. We're just going to go in with the same mindset as we have done. Want to enjoy ourselves and bring our A game.
Teams:
England Women (Playing XI): Maia Bouchier, Danielle Wyatt-Hodge, Alice Capsey, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Heather Knight(c), Amy Jones(w), Danielle Gibson, Charlotte Dean, Sophie Ecclestone, Sarah Glenn, Lauren Bell
Pitch report | Anjum Chopra and Lisa Sthalekar: Nice breeze blowing across. 53 meters on one side, 63 on the other. Straight hit is 73 meters. One thing we've seen throughout this tournament, England have struggled when seamers have bowled at 6-7 meter mark. They only go at 4 rpo. Henry will be a really handful if she does that. England will be looking to post something around 145.
Knight: It's our first game here but we've been good at adapting, so hope we'll be able to do that. Simple for us: win and we go through. WI have been playing really well so it's going to be a tough test. One change: Alice comes back in.
Mathews: We're going to have a bowl first. Have been successful doing that in the tournament. Want to go out there and play good cricket. Two changes. Nation comes in. One other player comes in.
West Indies Women have won the toss and have opted to field
Mathews wins the toss in her 100th T20I.
A point to note is that this is England's first match in Dubai at the World Cup. On the other hand, West Indies are playing their third game here.
The batting is where both teams will be tested. Majority of England's runs have come at the top of the order through Danielle Wyatt-Hodge who has scored 135 runs in 3 innings.
West Indies, on the other hand, were hammered in their opening encounter against South Africa. But they've bounced back with two comprehensive wins, polishing off two consecutive run-chases in less than 13 overs each. Their bowling attack isn't one to be frowned upon either. Chinelle Henry has looked a threat with the new ball, and there's plenty of quality in their spin department, featuring the likes of captain Hayley Mathews, Karishma Ramharack, Afy Fletcher.
England are the only team apart from Australia that's still unbeaten in this tournament. They even managed to tinker with their bowling combination in the previous game, playing an extra seam option instead of the four-pronged spin attack that had been unleashed in their first couple of games. Will be interesting to see if they stick with that tonight in Dubai which has offered more bounce compared to Sharjah where Linsey Smith's low trajectory was particularly useful.
