Pitch report: "Blue skies here, little bit of cloud. Big boundaries here and a strong breeze. Wind is a huge factor, it generally blows right across the ground so you're looking to protect one side. Definitely browned off, there was a tinge of green the other day. Consistent covering of brown grass today. There was something in it for everyone the other day, shouldn't be very different today" say Frankie Mackay and Craig McMillan
We've made a few changes to our Expert XI available on Fantasy Handbook. Do check it out
Mitchell Santner: Second half of the innings was good. Wicket looks good, has dried up a little bit.
Charith Asalanka: We're going to bowl, it still looks like a good pitch, want to do the same thing as the last game. Lot of positives in the last game, at the same time there are areas to be improved. One thing is no-balls, cannot accept that. It was an amazing opening partnership, hopefully the middle order does better. One change
New Zealand (Playing XI): Tim Robinson, Rachin Ravindra, Mark Chapman, Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, Mitchell Hay(w), Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner(c), Zakary Foulkes, Matt Henry, Jacob Duffy
Sri Lanka have won the toss and have opted to field
18:15 Local Time, 05:15 GMT, 10:45 IST: In what turned out to be an absolute humdinger of a game, New Zealand took the lead by winning the 1st T20I in dramatic fashion. Chasing 173 to win, Sri Lanka were absolutely cruising before they suffered a conspicuous implosion that led to them falling short by 8 runs. We’re back at the Bay Oval for the 2nd T20I today and if the atmosphere of the first game was anything to go by, it should be another fantastic evening of cricket at Mount Maunganui. The pitch seemed pretty balanced and we should get another cracking contest.
