Mitchell Santner: We’ll bowl. It’s been under covers for a few days and it’s got a bit of grass. You have to adapt pretty quickly, could be a bit of bounce on this wicket. CT is on the back of our minds but we have a pretty important series against a very good Sri Lankan side, need to focus on that. There’s experience with the bat, we’ve seen what O’Rourke can do with the ball. Latham is out with a niggle and Michael Bracewell sits out. We’ve got four seamers. Would like to see what it does with the ball.
New Zealand have won the toss and have opted to field
09:55 Local Time, 20:55 GMT, 02:25 IST: Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the first ODI of the 3-match series folks! The Blackcaps won the T20I series by a 2-1 margin, so the visitors will be looking forward to bouncing back in the ODIs. Sri Lanka’s bowling looks better than their batting which is a little inexperienced, so they should be looking forward to restricting the Kiwi batters to a mediocre total. The venue is suitable for pacers, hence the fast bowlers should enjoy their time bowling at the Basin Reserve. The toss and teams aren’t far away, stay tuned for all the updates..
