Born in Ulladulla, New South Wales, Matthew Gilkes is a left-handed wicket-keeper batter. He first made his T20 debut for the Sydney Thunder in BBL 2018/19 and subsequently made both his List-A and first-class debuts for New South Wales the following season in 2019/20.
