Born to immigrant parents in Perth, Peter Hatzoglou is of Greek and North Macedonian heritage. Playing club cricket and not having made any significant breakthroughs aged 18, Hatzoglou probably didn't seriously consider a career in cricket until he was signed by the Melbourne Renegades in 2020. After playing across various tournaments, both in the UK and Australia, former Australia player Cameron White spotted and pushed for Hatzoglou's selection. After finding success in the BBL, Hatzoglou made his represented South Australia in T20s. Only quitting his data-analyst role at KPMG in 2021, Hatzoglou tried his luck in breaking into county cricket in England after playing for various clubs but he was unsuccessful in that endeavour. In 2022, however, he bagged a short-term stint for the Oval Invincibles in The Hundred competition.
