Biography

A promising batting all-rounder, Angelo Kanishka Perera is a blue chip to invest upon. He first hit the headlines in 2009 when he struck a 157-ball-112 to lift Sri Lanka Under-19 to 280 from a top order wobble against their Bangladesh counterparts in a stalemate at Khulana. A string of consistent domestic displays with the bat coupled with some handy returns with the ball catalysed his entry to international cricket. Whilst he can be dangerous with the bat, he is predominantly used as a run-restrictive bowling option. Born in Moratuwa, which is a large suburb of Colombo city, Perera plies his trade for the Nondescripts Cricket Club.

Perera made his T20I debut against Bangladesh in 2013. His maiden ODI appearance also came in the same year. However, Perera has not been able to make a permanent place in the team so far.
