He might have topped the dubious run-chart of the Sydney Thunder team in BBL 06 but long before that Kurtis had created history in 2011 by being the youngest batsman in the Sheffield Shield history to score a ton. He was 18 years and 206 days old when he bludgeoned a ton against Western Australia at the SCG.
He was plagued by injuries post that and he did not play first-class cricket post that for almost two years before outscoring everyone in the team in the 2015-16 Shield season and tallying 737 runs in 9 games. He followed it up with another solid season for New South Wales in 2016-17 by notching up 668 runs in 10 games.
He is expected to be a vital member of the Sydney Thunder team in BBL 07.
