Biography
A well built lad hailing from Madhya Pradesh, Ishwar Pandey has a good outswinger that will take the ball away from a right-handed batsman. His ability to keep the seam upright adds great value to a bloke, who bowls at a good pace. He made his first-class debut against Goa at the age of 21, with his state side in the 2010-11 Ranji Trophy season. He impressed straightaway and was also the leading wicket-taker for the side in the second innings.
Ever since then, he cemented his place in the side and bettered his performance in the next season. The 2012-13 season was fruitful for Pandey, as he went on to top the bowling charts for the entire season with 48 wickets. Soon after, he was given an IPL contract by Pune Warriors in 2013, for whom he played a few matches.
He continued to impress in the domestic circuit and was roped in by Chennai Super Kings at the 2014 IPL auctions. He played a fair amount of games and had a decent outing.
Though he has been touring with the Indian squad of late, he is yet to get a debut cap. However, with an impressive action and the ability to bowl consistently, that opportunity is not too far away from Ishwar Pandey.
