Biography
Great things come in small and powerful packages. Tim Seifert explains why. He sprung into news after he blasted his way to the quickest T20 ton in New Zealand 's domestic history. A 40 ball ton against Auckland meant it opened untraversed avenues for the pint-sized dynamite of a batsman.
This knock also coincided with the musical chairs for the keeper's slot in the shorter formats. Tom Blundell and Glenn Phillips were auditioned and their blues at the international level never seized. That meant mid-way into the tri-series involving Australia and England in early 2018, Tim got his debut as a T20 international and sparkled with a cameo straightaway.
Only two years old at the domestic level, it was a huge leap for Seifert. Looked after by former NZ keeper Gareth Hopkins and Jason Hills, Tim has been a wicket-keeper since he was at intermediate school. Short and stout, he packs a punch while playing his shots. Tim also traveled with the New Zealand A team to India. He held his own in the 4 day games amidst the ruins as New Zealand A suffered heavy defeats but in the One Dayers got a couple of ducks in both the games he featured.
Given that he is very young, NZ would be thinking of him as an investment for the upcoming tourneys.
