Biography
Gudakesh Motie is a left-arm orthodox bowler from Guyana who was part of the West Indies team in the 2014 U19 World Cup. He trained as a multi-format player, representing Windward Islands in the 4-Day competition, and played for Guyana in limited overs cricket. Motie was the leading wicket-taker in the 2019-20 Regional Super50 competition. Motie was picked for both the Test and ODI squad for their home series against Bangladesh, making his debut in both formats. In 2023, he was named Man of the Series in an away Test series against Zimbabwe, as he claimed 13 wickets in the second Test to give West Indies a win. Motie was also part of the West Indies squad for the 2024 T20I World Cup, and then played two Tests against England in an away series. In the CPL, he has been playing for Guyana Amazon Warriors since 2021.
