Biography
Riley Meredith is an exciting right-handed fast bowler from Tasmania who can consistently bowl at a pace above 140kph. Blighted by injuries for close to two years, the Clarence speedster made his domestic debut at the age of 21 against a visiting Pakistan team in January 2017 representing Cricket Australia XI.
Meredith was a regular member of the Tasmanian set-up in the Australia Domestic One-Day Cup (2017) and went onto lead his team’s bowling attack in the latter stages of the competition in Jackson Bird’s absence. On the back of impressive performances in the shorter format, the rookie made his Sheffield Shield debut for Tasmania against Victoria in November 2017.
Having improved his bowling considerably since his domestic debut, Meredith will be in safe hands of the former Tasmanian pacer and current coach Adam Griffith, who rates the former very highly.
