Cast in the limelight after a successful BBL campaign for the Hobart Hurricanes in 2023, Nikhil Chaudhary has an intriguing story of how he ended up in Australia. A batting all-rounder that bowls off-breaks, Chaudhary aspired to play in the IPL and even represented Punjab in the 2016-17 season.
Things took a drastic and unexpected turn for Chaudhary when he found himself stranded in Brisbane on a tourist visa during the COVID19 pandemic. Chaudhury decided to remain in Australia and played club cricket while working odd jobs, including at a Mexican restaurant and at Australia Post, to make ends meet. He made a name for himself with his performances and he was picked up by the Hobart Hurricanes on the recommendation of a coach.
