They were struggling at 69/5 at the halfway mark but Karthik was still out there. He needed some support and that came from skipper Fortuin. The pair added a 50+ stand and it was the Indian keeper-batter who did bulk of the scoring. He laid into Lubbe, smashed him for three sixes and brought up his maiden SA20 fifty, but got out with 15 balls to go. The innings went nowhere after that but the Royals did manage to reach 150. Sipamla and Ferreira were the standout bowlers as the pair picked three wickets apiece. The surface is on the slower side and the chase should be interesting if it remains that way under lights.
