GAW are in pole position at the moment with a healthy NRR to boot as far as finishing in the top-two is concerned. SLK with their late hitting have put pressure on TKR who need to overtake them on that count. If not for those crucial runs at the end, TKR would have had an easier equation to deal with. If TKR overtake SLK, then GAW and TKR will play finish in the top-two. That's it from this one. We have that crucial game between GAW and TKR left in the group stage. See you then, for now it's bye bye from all of us here. Take care and be well. Good night.
Imran Tahir | GAW captain: Just want to say thank you to every Guyanese who have come and supported us over the years, getting over the line in front of them is really pleasing. Surfaces have been different, some of them grip more, the last two played really well, we have got 3-4 spinners. Try to play according to the situation, where Mo has to come, where Motie has to come, where I need to come. Having a combination like that is a luxury and makes my job easier as a captain. If I need to bowl, I step up. Otherwise, Moeen and Motie are there. It’s really pleasing that everything is coming together nicely. Every game is important whether it is for the franchise or for the guys playing for the country. Another opportunity for all the guys, we are not going to take it for granted, they are a good team but we are the home team and we are going to try and win, that's the mindset we are taking into the game. And we are up for the challenge.
Daren Sammy | SLK head coach, he is in for du Plessis: [on du Plessis] It's just a bit of cramps, hopefully it does not affect his participation going forward. We were the best fielding team in the competition but today we were flat, when you give good players chances, they make you pay and we were not diligent enough, took time to adjust to the pitch. But we did what we could to put pressure on TKR. We spoke about it, at the halfway stage, we said it makes no sense to get to that total but happy that we got 170. We tried to get as close to the total as possible, we scored 60 runs in the last 4 overs. From 7-15 overs is key in this tournament and we and Guyana are the best in that regard. If you told me we will be 2nd and lose just 3 games after the group stages before the start of the competition, we would have taken it.
Shimron Hetmyer | Player of the Match: It is just the mindset (talking about his good form this season), trying to be as clear as possible and most importantly trying to enjoy my game. We (Hope and I) batted a lot together and it is all about taking on the right match-ups. It's been nice playing at home and nice to have my family here supporting and nice to be at home.
13:54 Local Time, 17:54 GMT, 23:24 IST: du Plessis ends on 92 and one has to admire the courage of the man. He did not want to give up and go when he knew the game was done around the 18th over. Severe cramps but he stuck around and those runs at the end with Alzarri Joseph might still prove crucial.
